If a delivered URL is not tappable, check the message format, the URL itself, and whether the recipient has accepted the message request.
Use a CTA button
Add a button to your message, give it a clear label such as Get the Link, and enter the complete HTTPS destination. Check the label and URL limits shown in the editor. Choose a DM message layout.
Check a plain-text link
- Include the full protocol, such as
https://example.com. - Put the link on its own line instead of surrounding it with punctuation.
- Open the same URL in a browser to confirm it works.
- Check any redirect or shortener you control.
Check Message requests
Instagram can present messages differently before a request is accepted. Test from a second account and inspect the actual message on the device where the problem happens. An opener can invite the person to interact before you deliver the resource.
If messages containing links fail
Compare a simple text-only test with the link message and read the delivery error. Account restrictions or an invalid destination need a different fix from plain-text rendering. Contact support with the exact failure time and URL if needed.
