Randomizer Node: Split a Flow Across Random Paths

On this pageSetupPercentages are odds, not quotasReturning contactsExample: compare two openersWire both paths

The Randomizer splits contacts between two paths by chance, in the proportions you set. The choice is not based on what you know about a contact.

Setup

  1. Add a Randomizer node.
  2. Set First branch probability using the slider.
  3. Connect the first percentage output to one next step.
  4. Connect the second percentage output to another step.

The first branch can be 1–99%. The second is calculated automatically as the remainder, so the total is always 100%.

Percentages are odds, not quotas

A 50/50 split does not alternate contacts. Each draw can take either branch, so a small sample may look uneven. Compare results over enough conversations to avoid drawing conclusions from a handful of people.

Returning contacts

AP3K saves the selected outcome before sending so a retry does not redraw that step. It does not offer a separate sticky-assignment or “Pick a random path every time” toggle. Do not assume a returning contact is permanently assigned to one variation across new flow runs.

Example: compare two openers

Incoming keyword → Randomizer at 50% → First branch: short welcome → Second branch: detailed welcome. Send each branch to an appropriate next step and change only the wording you want to compare.

Wire both paths

An unwired output ends the flow for contacts assigned to it. Make each variation easy to recognize during testing. AP3K’s randomizer has two outputs; there is no four-variation editor or payment-gateway experiment node.
