A comment must match an active automation and remain eligible for Instagram’s private reply API. Start with a new comment from a second account.
Check the trigger
- Confirm the automation is published and enabled.
- Confirm the selected post or scope includes the post being tested.
- Check Any Comment or the configured keyword matching.
- Use a comment posted after activation; AP3K does not backtrack older comments.
Read the delivery error
An error saying a comment is invalid for a private reply can indicate a deleted or ineligible comment, an already-sent private reply, or restrictions on reaching the recipient. A successful public reply does not guarantee a DM can be delivered.
Check repeat protection
One DM per user suppresses another DM to someone who already triggered the automation. This is separate from Instagram’s limit on replying privately to the same comment. Do not treat repeated test comments from one person as independent first-contact tests.
If every new comment fails
Check your Instagram permissions. Confirm DM access and review whether another app controls messaging. Keep the Instagram account professional. A Facebook Page is not required for the direct Instagram Login flow.
Get help with a specific attempt
Contact support with your Instagram username, automation name, post link, comment time and timezone, and exact error. A concrete failed attempt is more useful than repeatedly reconnecting the account.
