The right Instagram automation plan depends on what your campaign does, how many accounts you manage and how much activity you expect. Follower count alone cannot answer those questions. This guide compares AP3K’s current capacities, walks through a realistic campaign estimate and explains the difference between saving automations and keeping them active. Start with the smallest plan that supports your intended workflow, then review actual usage before a larger launch.
Compare the limits that affect a live campaign
An active automation is a rule that is enabled to respond to eligible Instagram activity. A saved draft or paused campaign is different. Monthly actions and AI replies are usage allowances, so unlimited active automations on a paid plan does not mean unlimited messaging. Instagram permissions and messaging eligibility still apply.
| Plan | Instagram accounts | Active automations | Monthly actions | Monthly AI replies |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | 1 | 5 | 500 | 0 |
| Pro | 3 | unlimited | 5,000 | 500 |
| Business | 6 | unlimited | 20,000 | 2,000 |
Start on Free when your workflow is a simple reply and link
Free suits a creator testing one professional Instagram account with a few clear campaigns: a checklist, a product information page or a booking link. You can use keyword and Any Comment triggers with supported public replies and DMs. Keep the first campaign narrow enough that you can inspect the complete customer experience.
Live AI replies, in-DM email or phone collection, CSV export, follow gates, follow-ups and custom Flow publishing require an eligible paid plan. A link to an external form is not the same as AP3K collecting an email inside the conversation. Decide which experience you actually need before choosing the plan.
Choose Pro or Business by capacity, not by the number of ideas you have
Pro currently costs $15 per month, or $120 billed annually. Business currently costs $25 per month, or $216 billed annually. Annual figures are the amount charged for the year, not a monthly payment. Review the checkout total and current pricing before subscribing.
Pro is a practical fit when your workflow needs paid features and fits within its account and usage limits. Business raises those capacities for a busier brand or someone managing more Instagram accounts. Business does not automatically add teammate seats or a shared-login permission system; connected-account capacity and team access are separate concepts.
Estimate actions with one worked campaign
Imagine 200 eligible comments and a campaign that sends one public reply and one DM for each comment. Those two configured sends create a planning estimate of 400 actions, before adding any additional messages. This is an illustrative workload, not a promise that every comment will qualify or that every send will succeed.
Do not convert followers directly into actions. A 10,000-follower account might run one small campaign; a smaller account might have an unusually active launch. Count the actions in your intended journey, estimate eligible interactions conservatively, and keep capacity available for other active campaigns. Check Billing for actual usage rather than treating your estimate as an invoice.
- Count the accounts. Include every Instagram account that must remain available.
- List the required features. Separate a static link reply from AI, contact capture, follow-ups and custom Flows.
- Map the sends. Write down the public reply, opening DM, final message and any optional follow-up.
- Review real activity. Run a small test and inspect the current Billing usage before scaling the campaign.
Understand what a downgrade changes
When paid access actually ends, AP3K retains saved automations and contacts under its data-retention policy. It pauses automations that need paid features, belong to a plan-locked Instagram account or exceed the active-automation allowance. On Free, up to five eligible automations remain active; the oldest eligible campaigns are retained first.
For example, a Business workspace with 60 active automations does not have 55 campaigns deleted. Excess or incompatible campaigns are paused, and pending jobs and active sessions belonging to those plan-paused campaigns are cancelled. After upgrading again, review and restart the campaigns you want. Upgrading does not automatically resume old campaigns or replay cancelled messages.
A failed renewal is not always the moment of downgrade: a past-due subscription may retain paid access while payment retries run. Use the actual subscription state shown in Billing. Changing plans does not reset usage already recorded for the current usage period.
Frequently asked questions
Can I save more than five automations on Free? The limit concerns active automations. Keep saved campaigns and activate only eligible rules within the current allowance.
Does Business mean unlimited DMs? No. Active automation capacity and monthly messaging capacity are different. Check the table and your Billing usage.
Should I upgrade before testing the first campaign? Only if its required features or account capacity need a paid plan. A simple static reply-and-link workflow can be tested on Free within its limits.
Will cancelling delete my campaigns immediately? Ending paid access changes entitlements; it is not an instruction to delete your saved campaigns. Account deletion and data-retention rules are separate.
